About the authors

Dr. Bas Karreman is Associate Professor of Organisation and Strategy at the Erasmus School of Economics, Erasmus University Rotterdam. He is involved as a lecturer and coordinator in the Bachelor-1 course in Organisation and Strategy. He is also coordinator of the academic skills course in the bachelor programme. His area of research expertise is applied economics.

Gelijn Werner MSc. is a senior policy maker at the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs. He was trained as an economist at the University of Groningen and in various positions has accumulated many years of experience of writing, editing and reviewing economic texts. Before working for the government Gelijn was a senior editor at the Dutch economic journal Economisch Statistische Berichten (ESB).

Prof. Henk van der Molen is Professor of Psychology at the Institute of Psychology, Erasmus University Rotterdam. He has years of experience of designing, implementing and evaluating training courses in professional communication skills.

Eveline Osseweijer is an IT specialist and programmer at the Institute of Psychology, Erasmus University Rotterdam. Previously she worked as a teacher at various secondary schools.

Drs. Margriet Ackermann was coordinator and developer of the writing skills course at the Institute of Psychology and the Erasmus School of Economics, Erasmus University Rotterdam. In addition, she was an academic lecturer in bachelor-1 and bachelor-2, where she supervises students in tutorial groups and practical sessions for skills training.

Prof. Henk Schmidt is a Professor of Psychology at Erasmus University Rotterdam and was curriculum dean of a new programme with the same name. Before he came to Rotterdam, he worked at the University of Maastricht. Among other positions, he was Professor of Cognitive Psychology there. He specialises in learning and memory, and has published extensively on problem-based learning and the development of expertise in various domains.

Estella van der Wal, MSc, is coordinator of the writing skills course at the Institute of Psychology, Erasmus University Rotterdam. She is also coordinator of skills training in bachelor-1 and academic lecturer in bachelor-1 and bachelor-2, where she supervises students in tutorial groups and practical sessions for skills training.
